COMMON Europe and IBM are very pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the COMMON Europe/IBM Power Systems Innovation Award. The COMMON Europe/IBM Power Systems Innovation Award showcases outstanding client achievement by honouring award winners at the 2010 COMMON Europe Conference in Stratford upon Avon/UK, June 12^th to 15^th.

What is Innovation?

What is the COMMON Europe/IBM Power Systems Innovation Award?

Several years ago, COMMON Europe and IBM introduced Innovation Awards to recognize, showcase, and share clients' best practices for Power Systems solutions.

The COMMON Europe / IBM Innovation Award recognizes members of the Power Systems community who have demonstrated innovation, leadership and ongoing commitment to the community.   Award winners exhibit excellence across a wide variety of solutions such as energy optimization and efficiency, virtualization leading to increased system utilization, commitment to education excellence, innovative business or web-based solutions, increased performance through workload optimization, value through integration and many others.   Award nominees will be evaluated on how well their solution demonstrates business innovation, supports outstanding achievement and highlights value to their company, school, end users or others in the Power Systems community.

Who is eligible for the COMMON Europe/IBM Power Systems Innovation Award?

IBM clients, business partners, software companies and educational facilities who use Power Systems servers (including System i and System p) are eligible for these awards.

A judging committee will be assigned and will include COMMON Europe Board Members and IBM members. The judges will rank and score each nomination on the following criteria:

• Demonstrate business innovation
• Supports outstanding achievement
• Highlights business value to the company and its end users
• Is considered a best practice in the industry
• Stands out from the other nominations
  
  

What will award winners receive?

The two finalists will receive an invitation to the COMMON Europe conference, covering full conference fee plus Gala dinner, Welcome party and social events (travelling and accommodation not included).

In addition to this, the winner will receive a Crystal award and a certificate and the runners up will receive a certificate. The winner will be announced at the opening session of the COMMON Europe Conference in Stratford upon Avon, June 12th to 15th 2010, and both the winner and the runners up will be honoured.

How do I submit a nomination for the COMMON Europe/IBM Power Systems Innovation Award?

The two finalists will be contacted by May 17th 2010 so that they can make plans to attend the 2010 COMMON Europe Conference in Stratford upon Avon.
